Listed among Korg’s Winter NAMM 2016 products, the minilogue is a four-voice analog polysynth with 37 velocity-sensitive slim keys. Each voice has two oscillators (saw, triangle and square, with shape control) and a filter switchable between 2-pole and 4-pole.

Highlights

  • A 16-step polyphonic sequencer with motion sequencing for up to four parameters.
  • A built-in delay that can sit before or after the filter.
  • 200 programs, 100 of them factory sounds.
  • An oscilloscope display that shows the waveform in real time, which is handy for learning.

With one knob per function, it is a great instrument for learning subtractive synthesis, as covered in our first synth guide. Its successor, the minilogue xd, adds a digital engine to the two analog oscillators. Full specs on Korg’s minilogue spec sheet.
